Watchdog is an Internet Service Provider (ISP) offering users filtered dial-in and broadband access to the Web and email. We can also provide our web filtering alongside any other Internet connection no matter who your Internet Provider is (we call this service Family Watchdog - please see information below). Our service is special because we employ sophisticated filtering technology that ensures protection in several ways:
  • Inappropriate Web material is blocked before it reaches your computer
  • Spam email can be identified and blocked at your request
  • Our filtering is tamper-proof
  • It is externally based so you need not worry about software
  • The filters are updated every night


How Does Family Watchdog Make it Safe?

We estimate that over 2000 inappropriate sites are added to the Internet every day.

Watchdog uses the latest technology to:
  • Monitor and block offensive web (HTTP) and file transfer (FTP) sites.
  • Monitor and block P2P (peer-to-peer) sites
  • Monitor and block Internet searches for pornography.
  • Monitor newsgroups (NNTP) and block any offensive ones.
  • Allow users to request sites be added to our blocking list if they are not listed already.
  • Allow users to request that blocked sites be unblocked if it is considered that they have been blocked incorrectly.
  • Filter email for objectionable content
  • Filter email from known objectionable sources.

We are currently trialling a new computer-based solution that is far superior to our Family Watchdog solution which we have discontinued.
